
Pierluigi Sacco (M.Sc., Ph.D.) is a Full Professor of Bio-Behavioral Economics in the Neuroscience, Imaging, and Clinical Studies Department at the University of Chieti-Pescara (Ud’A). He is a Senior Advisor to the Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities (CFE) of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris, a Research Affiliate at the knowledge-design metaLAB at Harvard University in Cambridge, a member of the Steering Committee of the Jameel Arts and Health Lab at New York University, and the President of Bourges 2028 — European Capital of Culture. As a Founding Co-director of the BACH (Biobehavioral Arts and Culture for Health, Sustainability, and Social Cohesion) Center, Professor Sacco leads an interdisciplinary research unity at the Ud’A Center for Advanced Studies and Technology (CAST) in Chieti, dedicated to exploring the biobehavioral effects of art and culture experiences from various scientific perspectives, including molecular biology, neuroscience, neurophysiology, behavioral sciences, and psychology. His research focuses on translating pioneering scientific insights about how art and culture can foster prosocial attitudes and behavioral changes into system-wide policy approaches to collective intelligence and prosocial problem-solving. Professor Sacco published hundreds of papers in peer-reviewed journals and edited books with major international publishers.
