Matteo Zambelli (M.Arch., Ph.D.) is an architect and Associate Professor in the Architecture Department at the University of Florence. His research focuses on creative thinking, design pedagogical methods, and invention techniques for the architectural process, drawing from a cognitive and historical perspective. In his professional experience, he designed innovative prefabricated systems, published in the journal “L’industria delle costruzioni” (issue no. 418, 2011). Professor Zambelli has collaborated on several national and international research projects. He translated some books by Juhani Pallasmaa, editing together the English volume Inseminations: Seeds for Architectural Thought (Wiley, 2020), a collection of seminal writings presented in a condensed format. About the interdisciplinary field of neuroscience for architecture, Zambelli edited the book La mente in architettura: Neuroscienze, incarnazione e il futuro del design (Firenze University Press, 2021), translating the publication Mind in Architecture: Neuroscience, Embodiment, and the Future of Design, edited by Sarah Robins and Juhani Pallasmaa (The MIT Press, 2015).
