Giovanna Colombetti (M.Sc., Ph.D.) is Professor of Philosophy in the Department of Social and Political Sciences, Philosophy and Anthropology at the University of Exeter, where she leads the research cluster Mind, Body and Culture within EGENIS (the Centre for the Study of the Life Sciences). Her research focuses on 4E cognition, emotion, affectivity, phenomenology, and material culture. Since 2023 she has been co-editor-in-chief of Emotion Review (EMR). Professor Colombetti is also Honorary Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern Denmark, where she collaborates with the research unit Movement, Culture and Society. In 2010–2014, she was the principal investigator of a Starting Grant funded by the European Research Council (ERC), titled “Emoter — Emoting the Embodied Mind.” Her book The Feeling Body: Affective Science Meets the Enactive Mind (The MIT Press, 2014) discusses most of the ideas developed in this project. Colombetti is a faculty member in the Neuroscience Applied to Architectural Design (NAAD) Master’s Program at the Iuav University of Venice.
